Havant Borough Council has been granted funding for the installation of an outdoor gym at Jubilee Park, which will help to improve the physical and mental health of residents.

£60,000 of Public Health Funding from Hampshire County Council will be put towards the construction of a publicly accessible outdoor gym, which will be open 24/7. Equipment at the site will be installed by The Great Outdoor Gym Company, and will include a cross trainer, low parallette bars, weighted chest press and more.

Construction of the gym is due to begin early June and last for approximately four weeks, opening in time for the summer.

The council will also be engaging with local physical activity groups to put on some formal workout sessions at the site. These sessions will help encourage local residents to stay active and spend time outside, also giving them the chance to connect with others. Dates for these sessions will be revealed shortly - keep an eye out for future announcements.
