Postponement of 2025 Hampshire County Council Elections

On 5 February 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, announced in parliament that elections to the Hampshire County Council scheduled for 1 May 2025, would be postponed for one year.

Borough Elections take place every three out of every four years, with one third of Councillors being elected each time. Havant Borough Council are represented by 36 Councillors covering 12 Wards. The last Borough elections were held on Thursday 2 May 2024.

  • The next Borough elections are scheduled for May 2026.

 

The last Parliamentary Elections were held on Thursday 4 July 2024. Members of Parliament are usually elected to the House of Commons every five years. Havant Borough is covered by the Havant Parliamentary Constituency and the Fareham and Waterlooville Constituency (which gives away 3 Wards to Fareham Borough Council).

Hampshire County Council Elections take place every four years and the Havant Borough is represented by seven County Councillors.  The last elections were held on Thursday 6 May 2021.  

  • The Hampshire County Council Election, scheduled for May 2025, has been postponed.

 

The last Police and Crime Commissioner election for the Hampshire Police Authority took place on Thursday 2 May 2024.  

  • The next election for Police Crime Commissioner is scheduled for May 2028.
