Havant Borough Council has approved the Housing Strategy for the next five years (2024-2029) and we held a public consultation to hear the views of our residents, partners and communities on what our priorities and actions should be.
The Council adopted the strategy to provide the strategic direction for the council and partner organisations to meet the housing needs and demands of local people. The four key aims within the strategy are as follows:
- Aim 1 - Preventing homelessness and helping those who are homeless to move on to stable housing solutions
- Aim 2 - Increasing the supply of housing, including affordable housing
- Aim 3 - Helping housing choices to enable independence
- Aim 4 - Improving the quality of rented housing stock
You can view the Housing Strategy document here.
The consultation closed on Monday 25 March 2024.
Thank you to all those who responded to this consultation - your views are important in shaping and influencing the final Housing Strategy.
The findings of the consultation can be found here and these were presented at Cabinet on 17 July 2024 and Full Council on 31 July 2024.
