Flexible smarter working patterns

A traditional 9am-5pm working pattern may not be for everyone, so we offer lots of different types of working patterns - subject to role and business need. (e.g. Part-time, job-sharing, flexi-time scheme, compressed hours and home-working).

Flexi-time scheme
|
We have a generous flexi-time scheme in place for all grades (up to Head of Service level).
This means that you are able to take up to 2 days per month of flexi-leave if you accrue the time - subject to business needs.

|
A number of our roles provide the opportunity for career progression.
Through a career graded pay structure which extends across a number of pay levels you can develop in your role and be recognised financially.

Locally agreed salary increases
|
We negotiate with Unison on an annual basis to agree a local pay award.
Annual pay awards are effective from 1st April of each year.

We sponsor our staff to gain professional qualifications and also provide a range of internal and external training courses for all employees.

Generous leave allowance
|
We offer a generous annual leave allowance - 26 days (+ public and bank holidays) on commencement of employment rising to 31 days (+ public and bank holidays) after 5 years service.

Local Government Pension Scheme
|
You can take advantage of the Hampshire Local Government Pension Scheme.
This is a contributory pension scheme based on earnings, however, the Council also contributes generously to the scheme.
Additionally, through the LGPS, three times your annual salary would be offered to your nominated beneficiary if you die in service.
