Tennis players can ready their rackets again and book slots at some courts across the Havant Borough.
The lifting of restrictions following the second lockdown has allowed people to play tennis again.
Recently refurbished sites at Emsworth Recreation Ground, Bidbury Mead and Purbrook Heath have been added to the Tennis in Havant online booking system and can be booked via our dedicated webpage.
The sites will remain open access and free to use, but to guarantee court time and avoid disappointment users are advised to book in advance.
Minor refurbishment works at these three sites were completed earlier this year. This included new posts, new nets, surfacing works and a repaint.
It is hoped the improved tennis facilities and online booking system will encourage tennis participation, while also supporting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of residents in the borough.
Cllr Alex Rennie, Havant Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Communications, said: “Like many people, I have been itching to get outdoors and take part in safe sporting activities while the national restrictions were in place during November.
“Tennis is the perfect socially distanced sport. It’s great fun, a great workout and our online booking system makes it easier than ever to take part.”
