Havant Borough Council is inviting Ukrainian host families to an event at Havant Plaza to thank them for their generosity and support in providing a safe haven for Ukrainian guests. It will also be a chance to recruit new host families who are interested in opening their homes to Ukrainian families in need.
Councillor Gwen Robinson, Cabinet Lead for Housing and Communities, said: “This will be a great opportunity for host families to meet one another and celebrate the positive changes they have made in the lives of many Ukrainian guests.
“It is time to express our gratitude and recognise the compassion of Ukrainian host families who have really made an impact and continue to stand in solidarity with Ukraine.
“Hosting is a challenging but rewarding experience that builds lasting relationships and encourages cultural exchange. I encourage anyone who wants to open their homes to Ukrainian families to consider becoming a host.”
The event will be held at the Public Service Plaza, Civic Centre Road, Havant, PO9 2AX on Tuesday 24 October, from 5pm – 8pm. Admission is free. Food and refreshments will be available, and the Two Colours Ukrainian choir will be performing. Anyone interested in attending should book online via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ukrainian-host-families-thank-you-and-recruitment-tickets-704475303597?aff=oddtdtcreator
