Havant Borough Council has made the decision to remove the Christmas tree from Leigh Park shopping centre following consistent anti-social behaviour incidents and resulting damage.

Wayne Layton, Executive Head of Regeneration, Economic Development and Preventative Services, said, “I am very disappointed that we have had to remove the Christmas tree, but owing to the vandalism and resulting fire damage, we have put resident safety first and taken decisive action.”

Christmas lights will be installed throughout the Leigh Park shopping centre and be lit up from Saturday 7 December.
