Havant Borough Council is pleased to announce the awarding of additional grants to local good causes through the Havant Lottery Community Fund.
Twice a year, the Havant Lottery Community Fund provides grants of up to £2,000 to registered good causes. These grants, generated through Lottery ticket sales, are awarded to good causes who deliver projects, services, and activities that support our residents.
The fund offers a flexible and straightforward approach, encouraging a wide range of innovative and creative proposals. Each application is assessed and reviewed by a panel which is made up of community representatives and local councillors.
In the recent autumn grant round, four outstanding projects were awarded funds:
- Hampshire Home Start - Havant Family Support Group: £1,973.17
- Hayling College - Contribution towards a loose parts pack: £1,600
- Dementia Friendly Hampshire - Memory Choir: £1,800
- PAWARA (Purbrook and Widley Area Residents Association) - Planting and Equipment: £515.98
Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Communities, said: “We are very proud of the positive impact that the Havant Lottery Community Fund continues to have on our local community.
“These grants are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our local organisations, and we look forward to seeing the benefits they bring to our residents.”
Since its launch in 2018, 108 local charities and not for profit groups have signed up to the Havant Lottery. Over £280,250 has been raised for local good causes. For more information on the Havant Lottery, please visit the Havant Borough Community Lottery website.
