Traders in Havant Town Centre have gone above and beyond with their Christmas window displays in the hope of being crowned winner of the council’s competition!
More than 25 businesses got involved and it was fantastic to see so many helping to make our high street and surrounding areas look festive.
The winner has been announced as Forget-Me-Nots florist and the team was presented with the prize of £100 for their efforts! Second prize of £50 donated by Rob Fry, Manager of the Meridian Centre, was awarded to Endless Gifts. Third prize was jointly awarded to Sherwood Florist, FatFace Foundation, R.B. Hairdressing and St Faiths Charity Shop and Bookshop who each won a bottle of wine donated by Pete Smith at the Robin Hood pub.
Councillor Phil Munday, Leader of the Council, said “We are keen to promote our town centres as a place to shop, particularly around this time of year.”
"The traders love it, shoppers enjoy looking at it, and with Small Business Saturday this weekend, it’s a win-win.”
Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration & Communities, said "There's been quite a bit of competition and one up-manship among business which we hope bodes well for next year’s competition.”
The displays were judged by Leader of the Council, Councillor Philip Munday, and local ward councillors Councillor Gillian Harris and Councillor Daniel Berwick.
