In support of the Armed Forces community, residents are invited to attend the re-signing of the Armed Forces Covenant at the Public Service Plaza (Havant, PO9 2AX) on Thursday 28 November.
The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Peter Wade, will be re-signing the Covenant on behalf of the council in the Hurstwood Room from 10am – 1pm. There will also be information stalls offering support and advice to those in the Armed Forces community.
The Mayor said: "Havant Borough Council received the prestigious Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award last year in recognition of its outstanding support towards the Armed Forces community.
"By re-signing the Covenant, the council pledges to encourage awareness, understanding and integration between the Armed Forces community and the wider local community.
"Together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect."
This event is free to attend and open to all - there is no need to book, just turn up! Refreshments and entertainment will be provided (including a Veteran choir, poetry recitals, and guest speeches).
Stall holders attending the event will include: Havant Veterans Support Hub, Community First, The Children's Society, and Forces Employment Charity.
