Remembrance Sunday parades and services

Residents are being invited to parades and memorial services in the borough to mark Remembrance Sunday on 10 November.

The events in Havant, Hayling Island, and Emsworth will commemorate the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and other conflicts.

The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Peter Wade, said “Remembrance Sunday honours those who have given their lives to defend our freedom and protect our lives.”

“I would like to invite all residents to join us at the parade and memorial service in Havant. Let's come together as a community to remember and pay our respects.”

Details of the parade and service are as follows:

Havant, St Faith’s War Memorial – Mr David Frere-Cook DL will be in attendance, along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Havant, and Alan Mak MP.

10:35 am - Parade assembles at the Royal British Legion Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Brockhampton Lane, Havant.

10:40 am - Marching starts.

10:50 am - Service at the War Memorial, West Street.

11 am – Two-minute silence.

11.02 am – Remembrance Service inside St Faiths Church, Havant.

Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Hampshire Caledonian Pipe Band.

Other services taking place are:

Hayling Island

10:40 am - Parade leaves Hollow Lane, marching along Elm Grove to the Cenotaph in St Mary’s Road for the laying of wreaths, before moving to St Mary’s Church for the Remembrance Service.

Emsworth – Mayor and Mayoress in attendance

2:15 pm - Parade leaves Queen Street heading to Church Path, Emsworth

2:45 pm - Remembrance service inside St James Church Hall, Church Path, Emsworth, PO10 7DP
