We Actively want to hear about your Wellbeing!

The Active Wellbeing project for the Borough of Havant is being launched and we want to hear from our residents on what being active means to you.

This project is being co-ordinated in partnership between Havant Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Horizon Leisure Trust, NHS, Community First and Energise Me. By all coming together, we can support those who live in our area to be as active as they want to be.

Active can mean a wide range of things, from feeling confident moving around your home, conducting everyday tasks such as walking to your local shops, to taking part in an organised sport, class or group activity, and everything in between!

Age and ability are no barrier – we want to hear from everyone, whether you are planning your next marathon run or simply happy to climb the stairs without needing to catch your breath!

Tell us what you enjoy doing to be active, what stops you from being as active as you’d like to be and what would make it easier for you to be active.

Your answers to these questions will be incredibly valuable to enable us to support residents in being happier, healthier, and fitter in the future.

The Leader of Havant Borough Council, Councillor Phil Munday said: “We have been working closely with our partners on how we support our residents to be active and have the opportunities to improve their wellbeing.

“It is crucial that we hear from our residents on what the key barriers and opportunities are when thinking about active wellbeing, so that any support or actions we put in place work for the people who live in our area.

“This council is committed to open and transparent engagement with our residents, so we would encourage you, your family and friends to take part and help shape the way we support being active across our borough - for now and in the future."

This project is a key initiative in the Wellbeing priority outlined in our recently adopted Corporate Strategy, aiming to support our residents in leading active and healthy lifestyles. Physical health, mental health and wellbeing, and access to related services were identified amongst the top priorities and concerns in our recent Resident’s Survey, and this project will enable the council, along with our key partners, to address this.
