A lucky player is celebrating after winning an amazing £2,000 cash prize in the Havant Borough Community Lottery.
The player became Havant Borough Community Lottery’s first £2,000 winner in last weekend’s draw, matching five numbers, while raising funds for the community fund – supporting many different good causes across the borough.
Mrs S from Havant said “I was delighted to hear that I had won a £2,000 lottery prize this week.
"Having lived in Havant for more than 10 years now, whenever I visit The Spring or switch on the radio to listen to The Flash I remember that I have made a small contribution to the running of these and many other local services and never take them for granted.
"I plan to use the prize to treat the family to a special weekend away as soon as possible."
The Havant Borough Community Lottery offers an exciting way to support good causes throughout the borough. With more than 100 local organisations benefitting, players know that more of their ticket money goes directly to their chosen cause to help raise funds to support their projects.
Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet lead for Regeneration and Communities, said “I am delighted for Mrs S, it is a wonderful example of how giving back to the community can have its own rewards, and we are delighted to see the positive impact the borough’s community lottery is having on residents and the good causes alike.
"Since the Havant Borough Community Lottery started seven years ago, £294,000 has been raised for local Good Causes so it really is a win-win for everyone. I encourage everyone to get involved, whether by buying a ticket or registering a group.
"Anyone registering to play will be in with a chance of winning up to £25,000, all for just £1 a week!"
Lottery tickets are just £1 a week with 60p going directly to good causes – more than any other major lottery. Players can win cash prizes of up to £25,000 and choose which charities they want to benefit. They can also see exactly where every penny goes on the lottery website.
