A new and improved play area is set to be installed at Scratchface Lane, Havant, PO9 3QU.
A full refurbishment of the play area is scheduled to begin from Monday 24 March, and will include four different zones: inclusive, community, junior, and activity zones. The play area has been re-designed to better suit the needs of the local community following a public consultation.
New play equipment will include: swings, climbing units, hammock seating, rope swing, overhead glider, monkey bars, and an agility trail, as well as accessible equipment such as: an inclusive swing seat, sensory panels, double-width slide, parent and child swing.
The refurbishment has been made possible thanks to £106,000 funding secured from the CIL fund (Community Infrastructure Levy).
Councillor Gillian Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration & Communities, said: "We want to create play areas where children of all ages and abilities can have fun and stay active with new, accessible equipment. I look forward to seeing the newly refurbished play area at Scratchface Lane."
Works will be undertaken by Proludic Ltd, with the play area due to be open in time for summer.
