Access to Information is principally governed by the following legislative provisions: -
Data Protection Legislation
Data Protection Legislation (UK GDPR and DPA18) allows you to make a request to see the personal information we hold about you.
Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)
The Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) allows you to request environmental information held by the council. For example information about land development e.g. Planning Policy and Planning and Development, pollution, waste management etc.
Freedom of Information (FOI)
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act allows you to request any other information held by us that does not fall under one of the above access regimes.
The council's Access to Information Policy is a statement of what the council intends to do to ensure compliance with the legislation and applies to all council employees and elected representatives.
